Instagram Photo Downloader
Single photos and whole carousels, each image its own file. Free, no login.
What is an Instagram photo downloader?
An Instagram photo downloader saves the pictures from a public post as image files. Paste the post link and SFDown lists every photo, and every video clip if the post mixes them, as a separate result with its own button. A carousel of ten becomes ten downloads, so you can take one picture without the other nine.
Images arrive at the resolution Instagram stores for the post, typically 1080 pixels on the long edge for standard posts, as the file Instagram serves rather than a screenshot. Nothing is recompressed and nothing is overlaid.
Only public posts can be read. SFDown never asks for an Instagram login and sees what a signed-out visitor sees, so private accounts and Close Friends posts return nothing. Profile pictures are not part of a post and are not supported.
How to download
- 1
Open the post, tap the ••• menu or the share icon, and choose Copy link.
- 2
Paste the link here. Single-photo posts and carousels both work.
- 3
Press Download photo on each image you want, or Download all where your browser allows it.
Why SFDown
Every slide, separately
A carousel lists each photo and clip on its own, numbered in the order the creator posted them.
Stored resolution
You get the image Instagram serves for the post, usually 1080 pixels wide, not a resized copy.
No account needed
SFDown works from the link alone and never asks for your Instagram password.
Supported Instagram photo downloads
- Public single-photo posts, returned as one image file.
- Public carousel posts, with every photo and video clip returned as a separate download in order.
- Standard instagram.com/p/ post links copied from the app or the browser address bar.
- Private accounts, Stories, profile pictures and /share/ links that need a logged-in session are not supported.
Download on any device
Instagram photos on iPhone
Paste the post link in Safari and tap Download photo on each image. Files arrive in Files › Downloads; share them to Photos.
Instagram photos on Android
Use Chrome and tap Download all to save the whole carousel, or pick images one at a time. They land in Downloads and appear in your gallery.
Instagram photos on desktop
Open the post, copy its address, paste it here and use Download all or the individual buttons.
Troubleshooting
Only one image appeared
The post holds a single photo. A carousel returns every slide separately once the results load.
The photo looks smaller than expected
Instagram stores standard posts at up to 1080 pixels wide. The file you download is that stored version, which is the largest that exists.
The link contains /share/
Those links only resolve inside a signed-in Instagram session. Open the post in a browser and copy the instagram.com/p/ address instead.
The account is private
Private posts open only for approved followers inside Instagram. SFDown cannot read them, and neither can any downloader that works without your password.
Frequently asked questions
Can I share a link straight from the app?
On Android, yes. Add SFDown to your home screen, and it appears in the Share sheet: open a post, tap Share, pick SFDown, and the link is fetched for you. iPhone does not offer this, so paste the link instead.
Can I download every photo in a carousel at once?
On Android and desktop, yes: a Download all button saves the whole set. On iPhone, Safari allows one file per tap, so each photo has its own button.
What format are the photos?
The format Instagram serves, normally JPEG, at the stored resolution.
Can I download an Instagram profile picture?
No. SFDown works with post links, and a profile picture is not part of a post.
Does the carousel include video clips too?
Yes. A carousel that mixes photos and clips returns each one, with Download photo or Download video buttons as appropriate.
Can I download photos from a private account?
No. Only posts that open without logging in can be processed.
