What is SFDown?
SFDown is a free downloader for public posts on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X and Threads. Paste a link and it returns the video, photo or audio file the platform itself serves, ready to save.
Nothing is installed and no account is created, on either side: SFDown never asks for a social media login, and it can only reach posts that a signed-out visitor could already open.
Every result is a file the platform itself serves, not a screen recording: an MP4 for video, an image file for photos, and on TikTok an MP3 for the sound. Quality follows the original upload; SFDown does not compress a second time and does not upscale. A carousel or slideshow comes back as separate files, one per item, so you save what you want and skip the rest.
Behind the form, SFDown detects the platform from the link, asks that platform for the public media, and passes the file to your browser. Nothing is stored: there is no account, no history and no library. The privacy policy describes what the servers log and for how long.

Supported social media links
- TikTok videos, photo slideshows and short share links from vm.tiktok.com or vt.tiktok.com.
- Public Instagram Reels, video posts, photo posts and carousels; Instagram Stories are not supported.
- Public Facebook videos and Reels, X (Twitter) video or photo posts, and public Threads posts with media.
Download on any device
iPhone and iPad
Paste the public post link in Safari. After downloading, open Files, then Downloads, and use Share to save a supported video or photo to Photos.
Android phones and tablets
Use Chrome or another modern browser. The finished file normally appears in the Downloads app or the Downloads folder in your file manager.
Windows and Mac
Paste the link in your desktop browser and choose the media file you need. Your browser saves it to its configured Downloads folder.
Troubleshooting
The link is not recognized
Open the individual post rather than a profile or feed, use its Share menu, and copy the complete HTTPS link before trying again.
The post is private or restricted
SFDown can process only posts that are publicly visible without signing in. It cannot bypass private-account or audience restrictions.
The platform is temporarily unavailable
Social platforms change frequently and may respond slowly. Wait a minute, confirm the post still opens publicly, and retry the same link.
The link contains /share/
Instagram, Threads and Facebook mint /share/ links that only resolve inside a signed-in session. Open the post in a browser and copy the address from the address bar instead.
Download all is missing on iPhone
Safari on iPhone and iPad drops every file after the first in a batch, so the bulk button is hidden there. Each file keeps its own Download button.
Frequently asked questions
Can I share a link straight from the app?
On Android, yes. Add SFDown to your home screen, and it appears in the Share sheet: open a post, tap Share, pick SFDown, and the link is fetched for you. iPhone does not offer this, so paste the link instead.
Which links does SFDown support?
Public posts from TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter) and Threads, including short share links such as vm.tiktok.com, vt.tiktok.com and fb.watch.
Is SFDown free?
Yes. There's no sign-up and nothing to install.
Can I download from private accounts?
No. SFDown only reads posts that anyone can open without logging in. Private accounts and restricted posts are out of reach.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. SFDown runs in any modern browser. On iPhone, open the downloaded file from Files, then Downloads, to save it to Photos.
What file do I get?
An MP4 for video, an image file for photos, and on TikTok an MP3 for the sound. Formats follow what the platform serves; nothing is converted.
Is there a download limit?
No fixed quota. Normal use is never limited; only automated or abusive traffic is rate-limited.
Is it legal to download from these platforms?
Saving your own content, or content you have permission to keep, is fine. Copyright stays with the creator, and each platform’s terms still apply, so do not republish someone else’s work without consent. The Terms of Use have the details.
