What is a Facebook downloader?
A Facebook downloader saves a public Facebook video to your device. SFDown handles videos and Reels from pages and profiles that anyone can watch signed out, and resolves short fb.watch links for you.
What it cannot do follows from the same rule: private groups, friends-only posts and anything behind a login stay unreachable, because SFDown never signs in to Facebook.
Reels and regular video posts come back the same way: one MP4 with its audio, in the quality Facebook serves for it. Photo posts are not supported, so a link to a photo album returns nothing to download. Videos on public pages, public profiles and public events all work.
Facebook mints /share/ links in some Share menus, and those resolve only for a logged-in user. If SFDown reports it cannot follow the link, open the video in a browser and copy the facebook.com address from the address bar. Short fb.watch links are different: those are followed for you.
A Facebook Live broadcast becomes an ordinary video once the stream ends. If the recording stays on a public page or profile, its link works like any other video post. While the stream is still running there is no finished file to return.

Use Share › Copy link on the video or Reel, paste it in Safari and download. The video is normally available from Files › Downloads.
Facebook downloads on Android
Copy the public Facebook video link and paste it above in Chrome. Open the completed file from Downloads or your preferred file manager.
Facebook downloads on desktop
Open the video itself rather than the Facebook feed, copy its URL and paste it here. Your browser controls the final download location.
Troubleshooting
The video is in a private group
Private-group and friends-only media requires an authenticated Facebook session, so SFDown cannot access or download it.
The link opens a photo-only post
This Facebook downloader supports public videos and Reels. Use a link whose post contains playable video media.
An fb.watch link no longer works
Open the short link, wait for Facebook to load the destination video, then copy the final facebook.com address and try that URL.
SFDown cannot follow the share link
The link contains /share/, which Facebook resolves only for logged-in users. Copy the facebook.com address from a browser instead.
The video is age-restricted or region-locked
Facebook hides such videos behind a login prompt, and SFDown never signs in. If the video does not play in a private browser window, it cannot be processed.
Frequently asked questions
Can I share a link straight from the app?
On Android, yes. Add SFDown to your home screen, and it appears in the Share sheet: open a post, tap Share, pick SFDown, and the link is fetched for you. iPhone does not offer this, so paste the link instead.
Can I download videos from private groups?
No. Private groups and friends-only posts need a login, so they can't be downloaded.
Can I download Facebook Stories?
No. Stories are not supported.
Are photo posts supported?
No. Facebook photo posts are not supported. Videos and Reels are.
Where does the video go?
Your browser's Downloads folder. On iPhone, find it in Files, then Downloads.
What quality will the video be?
The quality Facebook serves for the video, usually the resolution it was uploaded at, up to full HD.
Do I need the Facebook app?
No. SFDown runs in the browser. The app is only useful for copying the link.
Is downloading Facebook videos allowed?
Saving your own videos, or videos you have permission to keep, is fine. Copyright stays with the creator and Facebook’s terms still apply, so do not repost someone else’s video without consent.
Can I download a Facebook Live video?
Once the broadcast has ended and the recording stays on a public page, yes: paste its link like any other video. During the stream there is no finished file to return.
