Facebook Reels Downloader
Public Facebook Reels saved as MP4. Free, no login, fb.watch links work.
What is a Facebook Reels downloader?
A Facebook Reels downloader saves a public Reel from a page or profile as a video file. Paste the Reel link and SFDown returns the MP4 Facebook serves, with its audio, in the quality it was published at. Links from the Reel’s Share menu, including short fb.watch links, resolve on their own.
The rule is the same as for every other platform SFDown supports: it reads what a signed-out visitor can open, and nothing more. Reels from public pages and public profiles work. Reels shared into private groups, friends-only Reels and anything that shows a login wall cannot be processed, because SFDown never signs in to Facebook.
Facebook also mints /share/ links in some Share menus. Those only resolve for a logged-in user, so SFDown cannot follow them; open the Reel in a browser and copy the facebook.com address from the address bar instead.
How to download
- 1
On the Reel, tap Share, then Copy link. Both facebook.com and fb.watch links work.
- 2
Paste the link here. SFDown resolves short links for you.
- 3
Press Download video to save the MP4.
Why SFDown
Reels and videos alike
Facebook Reels and standard video posts go through the same box and come back the same way.
fb.watch resolved
Short fb.watch share links are followed to the Reel for you.
No Facebook login
SFDown cannot see anything you could not see logged out, and never asks for your account.
Supported Facebook Reels downloads
- Public Reels from pages and public profiles, returned as an MP4 with audio.
- Reel links copied from the Share menu or the browser address bar, on facebook.com or fb.watch.
- Standard public video posts, which use the same flow.
- Reels inside private groups, friends-only Reels, Stories and /share/ links that need a login are not supported.
Download on any device
Facebook Reels on iPhone
Use Share › Copy link on the Reel, paste it in Safari and tap Download video. The MP4 is in Files › Downloads; share it to Photos.
Facebook Reels on Android
Copy the Reel link, paste it in Chrome and tap Download video. Find the file in Downloads or your gallery.
Facebook Reels on desktop
Open the Reel itself rather than the feed, copy its address, paste it here and click Download video.
Troubleshooting
The Reel is in a private group
Group Reels need an authenticated session to view, so SFDown cannot read them. Only Reels a signed-out visitor can open will process.
The fb.watch link no longer works
Open the short link in a browser, wait for Facebook to load the Reel, then copy the final facebook.com address and paste that.
SFDown cannot follow the share link
The link contains /share/, which Facebook resolves only for logged-in users. Copy the facebook.com/reel/ address from a browser instead.
The link opens a photo post
This tool downloads videos and Reels. Facebook photo posts are not supported; use a link whose post contains video.
Frequently asked questions
Can I share a link straight from the app?
On Android, yes. Add SFDown to your home screen, and it appears in the Share sheet: open a post, tap Share, pick SFDown, and the link is fetched for you. iPhone does not offer this, so paste the link instead.
Is a Facebook Reel different from a Facebook video for downloading?
No. Both return an MP4 the same way. Reels are simply short vertical videos in Facebook’s own format.
What quality will the Reel be?
The quality Facebook serves for it, which is usually the resolution it was uploaded at, up to full HD.
Can I download Reels from a private group?
No. Private-group and friends-only Reels need a login, and SFDown never signs in.
Do I need the Facebook app?
No. SFDown runs in the browser. The app is only useful for copying the link.
Can I download Facebook Stories?
No. Stories are not supported.
