What is a Threads downloader?
A Threads downloader saves the photos and videos attached to a public Threads post. SFDown accepts both threads.com addresses and the older threads.net ones, and returns each attachment as its own download.
Text-only posts have nothing to save, and posts from private profiles cannot be read, because SFDown works only with what a signed-out visitor can see.
Video attachments return one MP4 each, and photo attachments one image file each, in the quality Threads serves. A post carrying several attachments returns them all, numbered in order, each with its own button; on Android and desktop a Download all button saves the set.
Threads links come in two shapes. Ordinary post links on threads.com or threads.net work as they are. The /share/ links some Share menus produce only resolve inside a signed-in session, so SFDown cannot follow them; open the post in a browser and copy the threads.com address from the address bar.
A Threads post can also repost or quote another post. SFDown reads only the media attached to the exact post you link, so for a repost open the original and copy that address instead.

Older threads.net links are converted automatically, so any Threads link you have will work.
No Instagram account
Threads is tied to Instagram, but SFDown needs neither account to read a public post.
Photos and videos
Posts with several photos or clips return each file separately.

Threads downloads on iPhone
Tap Share on the Threads post, copy its link and paste it in Safari. Find completed videos or photos in Files › Downloads.
Threads downloads on Android
Copy the public post link from Threads and paste it above in Chrome. Select each photo or video you want to save.

Open the single-post page at threads.com, copy the browser address and paste it here. Your browser saves the chosen media file.
Troubleshooting
The Threads profile is private
SFDown cannot sign in to Threads or Instagram, so posts restricted to approved followers cannot be processed.
The post contains only text
This tool downloads attached photos and videos, not the text of a Threads post. Submit a public post that contains media.
The Threads post was removed
Open the URL in a signed-out browser window. If the post is unavailable there, its photos or videos cannot be retrieved.
SFDown cannot follow the share link
The link contains /share/, which Threads resolves only for logged-in users. Copy the threads.com post address from a browser instead.
The post is a reply or a quote
Each post on Threads has its own address. Open the post that actually carries the photo or video and copy that link, not the one that quotes it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I share a link straight from the app?
On Android, yes. Add SFDown to your home screen, and it appears in the Share sheet: open a post, tap Share, pick SFDown, and the link is fetched for you. iPhone does not offer this, so paste the link instead.
Can I download the text of a Threads post?
No. SFDown downloads the media attached to a post, not its text.
Why does it say the post is private?
The profile is private or the post is restricted. Only public posts can be downloaded.
Does it work with the Threads website?
Yes. Copy the post address from your browser and paste it here.
Is SFDown made by Meta?
No. SFDown is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Meta, Instagram or Threads.
What quality will the media be?
The quality Threads serves for the post: video at its published resolution and photos at their stored size. Nothing is re-encoded.
Do I need a Threads or Instagram account?
No. SFDown reads public posts from the link alone.
Is downloading from Threads allowed?
Saving your own posts, or media you have permission to keep, is fine. Copyright stays with the creator and Meta’s terms still apply, so do not repost someone else’s work without consent.
Why does the link change to threads.com?
threads.net and threads.com point at the same post. SFDown rewrites older threads.net links to threads.com before fetching, which is why both work.
