Twitter (X) Photo Downloader
Every image in a public X post as its own file, videos included. Free, no account.
What is an X (Twitter) photo downloader?
An X photo downloader saves the images attached to a public post as files. Paste the post link and SFDown lists each photo separately, and each video if the post mixes them, with its own Download button. A post with four pictures gives you four files, not one bundle.
Images arrive in the size X serves for the post, in the format X stores, usually JPG, so you get the picture as uploaded rather than the compressed preview the timeline shows. Both x.com and twitter.com addresses work; t.co redirect links do not, because they hide the post behind a redirect.
Protected accounts cannot be read: their posts are visible only to approved followers, and SFDown never signs in to X. A post that opens in a private browser window without a login prompt will normally process.
How to download
- 1
On the post, tap Share, then Copy link. x.com and twitter.com links both work.
- 2
Paste the link here. SFDown lists every photo and video in the post.
- 3
Press Download photo on the images you want, or Download all where your browser allows it.
Why SFDown
Each image on its own
A post with several photos returns each one as a separate file, numbered in order.
Size as served
You get the image X delivers for the post, not the timeline thumbnail. Usually JPG, at full stored size.
Videos come too
A post that mixes photos and a video returns all of them, each with the right button.
Supported X and Twitter photo downloads
- Public posts with one or more photos, each returned as an image file.
- Posts that mix photos and video, with every file listed separately.
- Post URLs on x.com and twitter.com, copied from the Share menu or the address bar.
- Protected accounts and t.co redirect links are not supported.
Download on any device
X photos on iPhone
Paste the post link in Safari and tap Download photo on each image. Files arrive in Files › Downloads; share them to Photos.
X photos on Android
Use Chrome and tap Download all, or save images one by one. They go to Downloads and appear in your gallery.
X photos on desktop
Open the post, copy its address, paste it here and use Download all or the individual buttons.
Troubleshooting
The copied address is a t.co link
Open the redirect first, then copy the full x.com or twitter.com status URL from the post page and paste that.
The account is protected
Posts from protected accounts are visible only to approved followers, and SFDown supports public posts only.
No image came back
The post is text-only, or its media was removed. Confirm the exact post still opens publicly and shows a photo.
You want the photo from a quote post
Open the original post that carries the image and copy its link. A quote post links to the image but does not contain it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I share a link straight from the app?
On Android, yes. Add SFDown to your home screen, and it appears in the Share sheet: open a post, tap Share, pick SFDown, and the link is fetched for you. iPhone does not offer this, so paste the link instead.
What format are the photos?
SFDown keeps the format X serves, usually JPG, at the size X stores for the post.
Can I download all photos in a post at once?
On Android and desktop, yes, with Download all. On iPhone, Safari allows one file per tap, so each image has its own button.
Do I need an X account?
No. SFDown works from the link alone and never asks you to log in.
Can I download images from a protected account?
No. Only public posts can be processed.
Does it work with twitter.com links?
Yes. x.com and twitter.com addresses point at the same post and both work.
